The journal topic for today is lightning protection. With hot summer heat comes lightning storms. Sometimes lightning storms following a hot spell can be quite dangerous. Buidlings and other structures will suffer severe damage if they are not protected against lightning. However, there is a lightning protection system that can keep you safe from lightning strkes. That protection system is lightning rod proctecion.

A lightning rod helps the discharge of a lightning strike to enter or leave the earth without passing through a structure or a building. This way there is no damage done. A series of lightning rods are placed at the highest point of a structure.

I think lightning rods are one of the best inventions ever made because without them could you imagine how much damage there would be to buildings and structures without them. I have seen some pretty wicked lightning storms in my time and would not ever want to be struck by lightning.
