Prairies

My Journal Writing Entry – Prairies

The journal topic for today is prairies. I have been to the Canadian prairies several times. I actually like the prairies very much. The prairies consist of three provinces, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The prairies are flat and are full of wheat fields and other crops.

The prairies have some very historical landmarks on them. There are a lot of grain elevators throughout the prairies. Some grain elevators are in use still to this day. Others are not being used anymore but are still standing.

There are not many trees on the prairies. The trees that are there have mostly been planted by the ranch owners. Ranch owners planted trees on their property as a wind break.
